Recovery Community Navigator

This program connects individuals and organizations providing substance use related peer recovery support across Lincoln and greater Nebraska in an effort to build the community’s prevention preparedness and response to overdose.  The Wellbeing Initiative, Inc. is seeking an experienced professional to work as a Recovery Community Navigator for this program. We are looking for someone who can build relationships with individuals, families, recovery support communities, healthcare organizations, first responders, and hospitals as well as provide assistance and education with system navigation and recovery.  

    • Outreach to recovery support communities, healthcare organizations, first responders, and hospitals via phone, email, zoom, and face to face meetings 
    • Schedule meetings and build relationships with recovery support communities, healthcare organizations, first responders, and hospitals via phone, email, zoom, and face to face meetings
    • Obtain and report local needs and barriers of those at risk of experiencing or those who have experienced overdose to influence the assistance provided to each area of need
    • Educate community stakeholders about Peer Support and its role in prevention, education, and intervention
    • Provide education about Narcan
    • Maintain regular communication with community stakeholders about program plan and implementation
    • Provide peer support to those at risk of experiencing and those who have experienced overdose by way of one on one support, assistance in system navigation, and connection to the recovery community
    • Monday-Friday 8-5pm 
    • Travel is required for this position
    • Evening and weekend hours are required 
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience managing projects of similar scope
    • Associate degree in a related field. Relevant experience may be substituted for degree. 
    • Effective interpersonal skills and positive attitude. 
    • Experience working Human service agencies (e.g., hospitals, substance use providers, governmental agencies, school systems)
