Our Enhanced Peer Support Training, also known as the P.E.E.R. (Peeriodical Education Expansion Research) Initiative is a partnership between Wellbeing Initiative and Southeast Community College providing experiential training, prioritizing opportunities in rural communities for students with different backgrounds, in completing the Peer Support Training Program. Partner agencies will refer their current staff and/or clients to the Peer Support Training Program, and create practicum opportunities for those students, in order to enhance or advance their peer support employment opportunities. P.E.E.R. Initiative supports students with scholarships and stipends and promotes educational opportunities to 37 people with low to no income per year, increasing the recovery community’s economic fortitude.
