The Wellness & Education Center (WEC) serves as a holistic learning space that nourishes and supports every dimension of a person’s wellbeing. All of the groups, classes, and health coaching are offered to the community at no cost.

Whole Health and Wellness:

Participants will utilize the 8 Dimensions of Wellness to explore the various elements of their own wellness journey. The group decides what topics they want to discuss and learn about together, which can include but is not limited to: Stress management, boundaries, resiliency, personal development, relationships, values and beliefs, safety, budgeting, housing, self-care, etc.

Open Recovery Group

A space for people walking a path of recovery to receive support, connection, understanding, and hope. Participants may identify that their path of recovery includes, but is not limited to: Substance use, gambling, nicotine, food, work, co-dependency, being a caregiver or loved one to a person in recovery, shopping, etc. Participants will explore and discuss recovery tools, learn and grow together.

Parent/Caregiver Support

A place where parents and caregivers support one another with the challenges, topics, and celebrations related to raising and caring for children. Participants decide what topics they would like to discuss and learn about, which may include but is not limited to: stress, childcare, community activities and events, challenging behaviors, self-care, child development, recovery tools, etc.

Neurodiversity Support

All of our brains work differently and it’s always helpful to meet with others who experience similar neurodivergence! Whether you’re autistic, you have adhd, ocd, cptsd, or more—join us! All are welcome to discuss our experiences with life, work, wellness tools, & more.

Physical Health and Wellness

A group focused on learning together and discussing the many aspects of physical health, and supporting one another on their physical health journey. The group will decide what topics they want to discuss and learn about together, which can include but is not limited to: Nutrition, cooking, exercise, yoga, smoking cessation, diabetes management, hygiene, heart heath, sleep, stress, etc.

WRAP

Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) is a simple and powerful process for creating the life and wellness you want. The WRAP process supports you to identify the tools that keep you well and create action plans to put them into practice in your everyday life. All along the way, WRAP helps you incorporate key recovery concepts and wellness tools into your plans and your life.

SMART Recovery

Self-Management and Recovery Training (SMART) is an evidenced-based recovery method grounded in Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), that supports people with substance dependencies or problem behaviors. It is the leading secular, evidence informed approach to overcoming addictive behaviors and leading a balanced life.

Pathways to Recovery

There are multiple pathways that people can use to support their individual recovery. In this group, participants will share about pathways that have worked for them, and learn about new pathways that are available, as well as how to use and access these pathways and recovery tools.

Y12SR – Yoga of 12 Step Recovery

A holistic approach is offered that invites individuals to build capacity and resilience, to cultivate skillful mind states for skillful actions, to practice presence, to integrate, to learn, to teach, and to heal within the context of community. This groups includes: The somatic approach of Yoga, cognitive approach of recovery models (including the 12-steps, harm reduction, and CBT), and the latest research in neuroscience and trauma healing.

Whole Health Employment Support (WHEST)

A program that takes a new look at how to support people who are seeking not only to be employed, but to stay well while doing so. The curriculum is designed to improve upon the way people are supported while they strive to achieve sustainable employment and maintain self-sufficiency. It’s much more than basic job skills; participants grow together by sharing and learning from one another.

Co-Reflection for PSS

A space where Peer Support Specialists come together to support each other in the work they’re doing, and in the lives they’re leading. A place where PSS can be themselves, share what's going on in their personal and professional lives, get feedback and support, and be uplifted and inspired. It’s a meeting held by PSS for PSS where peers get to learn, practice, reflect, support, connect with each other.

8 Dimensions of Wellness and Yoga

A Registered Yoga Teacher designs weekly lesson plans centered around the 8 Dimensions of Wellness. Participants join in discussion, movement, and meditation that enhances overall wellbeing. This is an all levels and experience class, where all bodies and abilities are welcome.

Mindful Morning Movement Yoga

A Registered Yoga Teacher facilitates this class with a focus on gentle movement and self-care. Participants join in discussion, movement, and meditation that enhances overall wellbeing. This is an all levels and experience class, where all bodies and abilities are welcome.

Creative Connections

For many people on a path of recovery, creative expression is an important wellness tool. Participants in this group will get to explore various creative expressions and modalities, and engage in creating  together. Modalities to explore may include but are not limited to: painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, poetry, theatre, music, etc.

Self-Advocacy Group

A space to come together with Peers to not only learn about what self-advocacy is, but to learn the skills to practice it in daily life. Participants will discuss self determination, self-awareness, self-actualization, self-reliance, self-regulation, and more. Participants support each other on their self-advocacy journey, and come together to share and connect.

The Mission of Wellbeing Initiative, Inc. is to empower individuals living with mental health and substance use challenges to reach their fullest potential. We strive to do this by cultivating communities through training, education, and opportunities for success.
